Team Hollandse Frietjes – non-professional cycling

The Team Hollandse Frietjes – non-professional cycling is a cycling club in Bochum, Germany. It was formed as a nonprofit organization in 2001. From 2003 to 2007 it was affiliated to the German Cycling Federation. In 2001 the club established the International Cycling Film Festival, an independent annual film festival for bicycle related films in Germany, Poland and the Netherlands.〔(【引用サイトリンク】accessdate=10 October 2015 )〕 The name Team Hollandse Frietjes refers to the first sponsor of the Team, a local fast food restaurant for Dutch french fries, located in the Bermudadreieck in Bochum.〔Frittenteam am Start, in: Stadtspiegel Bochum, August 24, 2002〕〔Debut für das Frittenteam, in: Stadtspiegel Bochum, August 9, 2003〕
==History==

In 2000 a group of approximately 30 road bike cyclists in Bochum gave rise to the idea of establishing a new club to coordinate their expanding activities like annual training camps and others. Furthermore the club should allow access to licenses for amateur competitions for its members, since this is provided by the German Cycling Federation only to clubs, not to individuals. The inaugural meeting took place August 2001.
In 2005 a private local radio station of Bochum, Radio 98,5, became a new sponsor of the team; therefore the name changed to Team Hollandse Frietjes/Radio 98,5. The team renamed Team Hollandse Frietjes - non-professional cycling again in 2014.
